Jason Villareal, DPT, ATC
Regional Clinic Director
Jason comes to Therapydia after successfully running two outpatient orthopedic physical therapy clinics, one in Newport Beach, CA and the other in Coos Bay, OR. Jason is eager and excited to contribute his clinical reasoning skill set and exceptional customer service to the Portland community.
Clinically Jason has been involved in the sports medicine and physical therapy field for the past 14 years. He has had the opportunity to work at the high school, collegiate, and professional level with athletes, while also helping patients in the pediatric, geriatric, inpatient, outpatient, transitional care and home health settings. This vast amount of experience has given Jason a unique skill set to treat all levels of patients. Jason is excited to contribute his knowledge and experience to this community and he takes pride in making positive outcomes for each and every patient that he encounters. Jason has spoken at large physical therapy conferences regarding clinical efficiency and was most recently invited to speak at Grand Rounds for the physicians at Bay Area Hospital regarding running analysis and injury prevention. Jason has participated in many specialty continuing education courses and is actively looking for ways to advance his knowledge for movement sciences incorporating technology into the physical therapy field.
Rachel Wilkinson, DPT
Rachel is originally from the Bay Area. She graduated from Loyola Marymount University in Southern California with her BS in Health Sciences. Rachel received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2015 from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. Amidst beginning PT school, Rachel went from running marathons to CrossFit as her fitness regime. She became invested in the CrossFit community and it became more than an exercise outlet for her. This is a group she can relate to and is eager to help or guide towards optimal movement and performance. Rachel is also passionate about Sports Medicine and enjoys working with patients of all ages and abilities. She specializes in shoulder and hip rehabilitation. Rachel has been continuing her education in female injury, prevention and return to prior level of function. This includes post-partum women looking to return to all levels of fitness. Rachel enjoys being active outdoors with her husband and dogs, enjoying Portland’s food scene, traveling to new places and playing recreational sports.
Jessica Manley, DPT
Jessica specializes in hip, back, and pelvic dysfunctions. Jessica graduated from the University of California San Francisco and San Francisco State University joint Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program in 2012. Jessica participated in a manual therapy residency for the Institute of Physical Art immediately after graduation. Jessica became interested in pelvic floor rehabilitation at my first introduction to PT, when she worked as an aide for a women's health specialist. Due to personal injuries, Jessica also became far too familiar with sacroiliac (SI joint), lumbar, and pelvic floor dysfunctions. Since Jessica's first job, Jessica has worked treating orthopedic injuries with a specialization in SI joint and pelvic floor muscle involvement. Jessica has also treated chronic pain, particularly chronic pelvic pain, interstitial cystitis, dyspareunia, and chronic hip and lower back pain.
Elaina Gayles, DPT
Elaina completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Oregon and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Pacific University Oregon. As a native Oregonian, she is excited to give back to her community and help people maximize their ability to get outside and stay active.She enjoys working with a variety of conditions including general orthopedic conditions with a special interest in athletic injuries in youth, lower extremity injuries, and balance problems. She enjoys working with people of all ages from adolescents to older adults and believes that age should not dictate function.Outside the clinic, Elaina likes to spend time in the beautiful nature that Oregon has to offer. She also enjoys cycling, drawing and painting, travel, and trying new restaurants or coffee shops around Portland.
Jessica was born and raised in Northern California. She is the eldest of 5 and her mom was one of 8; a big Italian family. She has lived in Portland since 2000.
Jessica raised her son, Camron, along with working as a Pharmacy Technician for 10 years. She enjoys reading, spending time with quality friends, fitness, and her American Bullboxer, Khaleesi.
Jessica is also a marathoner and has ran 2 full marathons and countless shorter distances over the past 8 years. Jessica’s passions include supporting women to be the best versions of themselves as she practices this herself. She mentored a team of fitness entrepreneurs and is also working on her skills as a public speaker.
Ryan Eckert, DPT
Ryan, originally from Northern California received his B.S. in Human Biology from UCSD in 2013 before obtaining his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of California San Francisco and San Francisco State University in 2019. During that time he studied with top myofascial decompression and running biomechanics researchers and is excited to bring these findings into his clinical work. Prior to his studies, Ryan was a former all-conference NCAA track and field athlete, and has worked with a diverse range of clients over the last 5 years in a variety of rehab and training settings. Additionally, he is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), certified in Selective Functional Movement Assessment(SFMA) and Rocktape, and holds a Russian Kettlebell Certification (RKC) that provides him with the knowledge of how to modify and adapt exercises and manual treatments to optimize results of people seeking improvements in both their everyday and athletic lives.When not at the clinic you can find Ryan exploring Portland via trail, bike, on the water or brewery and enjoying the outdoors.
