Therapydia Portland is part of Therapydia, a national network of physical therapy clinics that emphasizes the use of manual physical therapy to better patient outcomes. At Therapydia Portland, manual therapy is the foundation of all treatments and we will incorporate a variety of treatment methods including high speed video analysis and functional movement screens to tailor a plan just for your needs and lifestyle. We also offer wellness programs for on-going treatment to help prevent re-injuries.

Jason Villareal, DPT, ATC is Therapydia Portland’s Clinic Director and has been involved in the sports medicine and physical therapy field for the past 14 years. He has had the opportunity to work at the high school, collegiate, and professional level with athletes, while also helping patients in the pediatric, geriatric, inpatient, outpatient, transitional care and home health settings. This vast amount of experience has given Jason a unique skill set to treat all levels of patients. Jason is excited to contribute his knowledge and experience to this community and he takes pride in making positive outcomes for each and every patient that he works with.

Sabrina Seraj-Villnaueva, DPT values continuing education and has attended several courses in specialized manual therapy techniques and movement science principles to advance her skills in the treatment of movement dysfunctions. Sabrina is an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Credentialed Clinical Instructor and Kinesio Taping Association (KTA) Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner. She is also trained in and practices the use of The Graston Technique®, a patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively detect and treat scar tissue and other soft tissue restrictions that affect normal function. Sabrina enjoys staying active in dance, yoga, Pilates and hiking.

Emily Melzer, DPT grew up in North Central Oregon, where she spent her summers harvesting wheat on her father’s ranch. Emily received her B.S. in Exercise Science from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon and then continued on to Portland, Maine where she received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from University of New England in 2014. Emily spent the first year of her career working at an Outpatient Orthopedic PT Clinic in San Francisco, California where she gained experience with a diverse patient population including those with postural dysfunction due to sedentary jobs, patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, weekend warriors and marathon runners with chronic injuries. Emily recently attended the San Francisco Giants Sports Medicine conference in 2015 where she learned effective techniques to treat the active patient population.

Neville Chu, DPT has a vast clinical experience mixed with his ability to treat high level athletes is a great addition to the clinic. Neville received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Boston University in 2012. The following year he completed a 1 year residency in manual therapy through the Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy and will be taking the COMT lettering exam through Ola Grimsby Institute in the fall of 2016. While experienced in manual therapy, Neville’s main clinical focus is getting patients strong, mobile, and functionally independent.Neville’s athletic background has included half-marathon running, CrossFit, and now is focused mainly on olympic-style weightlifting. In addition to being a physical therapist, he also serves as a weightlifting coach to Magnus Barbell in southeast Portland. When he’s not in the gym or the clinic Neville enjoys spending time with his wife Esther and his son Amos.
You Are Covered
Therapydia Portland works with and provides billing for most PPO insurance groups including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Humana, SAIF, United HealthCare (Optum), Tricare and Medicare. For clients with out-of-network benefits, most PPO’s will pay a portion of treatment charges with a prescription from a physician. We will assist you in submitting a superbill to your insurance and you will receive reimbursement directly from them. We update our plans frequently so contact us to get more information about your physical therapy insurance coverage. We also accept cash-based payments.
